Who we are

Comeiin Works (Pty) Ltd. supplies laboratory equipment and consumables. For the personal information described in this policy, Comeiin Works acts as the responsible party.

Information we collect

We receive information that you choose to provide when requesting a quotation, emailing, calling or continuing a conversation through WhatsApp. This may include:

• Your name, email address, telephone number and organisation.
• Products, quantities, specifications and other procurement requirements.
• The contents of messages and supporting documents you send to us.
• Basic technical records that a hosting or network provider may create, such as IP address, browser type and access time.

Please avoid including confidential research, patient information or other sensitive personal information unless it is necessary and you are authorised to share it.

How and why we use information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare and follow up on quotations, confirm product specifications and availability, communicate about orders, maintain business records, protect our systems and meet legal obligations.

We process information where it is needed to take steps at your request, perform or prepare for a contract, meet a legal obligation, pursue a legitimate business interest that does not override your rights, or where you have given consent.

Sharing and service providers

We may share information with employees and service providers who need it to support an enquiry, quotation, order, delivery, hosting, email or business administration. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect legal rights.

If you choose “Continue in WhatsApp”, WhatsApp and Meta process your use of their service under their own terms and privacy notices. External hosting, email or messaging providers may process information in other countries, subject to applicable safeguards.

We do not sell personal information.

Website storage and external resources

Your temporary quotation list is stored in your browser’s session storage so it remains available while you browse. It is normally cleared when the browser session ends. The site does not currently use advertising cookies or analytics cookies.

The animated background uses locally hosted code, while a supporting Three.js library may be requested from the cdnjs network. The provider may receive ordinary connection information needed to deliver that file.

Retention and security

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, our business records, dispute handling and legal or regulatory obligations. Retention periods can differ depending on the relationship and type of record.

We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No website, email system or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your privacy rights

Subject to POPIA and other applicable law, you may ask whether we hold your personal information and request access, correction or deletion. You may object to certain processing, ask us to restrict processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some information may need to be retained where the law requires it or where another lawful basis applies.
